A powder board you ride shorter than logic says. And it works.
The Excavator solves an old freeride contradiction: floating in deep snow takes surface area, but a long board will not fit through trees.
K2's answer is Volume Shift: it spreads the volume across the width instead of the length, so you ride it three to six centimetres shorter than usual without losing float. The result turns where a normal powder board simply does not fit, and it kills toe drag when you carve.
Underneath sits the S1 core, carbon reinforcement in the tail for drive out of the turn, and a wax-infused sintered 4001 base that holds wax between services.
